Haematomma stevensiae R.W.Rogers

  Thallus white to cream-coloured, yellow-grey to greenish grey, weakly to distinctly rugulose, ±rimose and areolate, 0.3–0.5 mm thick, corticate, esorediate. Apothecia sessile to subpedicellate, 1.0–2.5 mm wide, not confluent; disc orange to orange-red, epruinose; thalline margin prominent, thin, smooth to weakly crenulate. Ascospores fusiform, straight or slightly curved, 7–9 (–11)-septate, 40–60 × 3.5–5.5 µm. Conidia not seen. CHEMISTRY: Thallus K+ yellow, C–, KC–, Pd+ yellow; disc K+ red; containing atranorin, sphaerophorin (major), isosphaeric acid (minor) and russulone (minor).
     
  Endemic in mangroves and humid forest in north-eastern Qld; grows on the bark of Brachychiton, Bruguiera, Excoecaria, Rhizophora and Tristania.
